Silver Lake is nestled in the beautiful Eldorado National Forest, right off of California Highway 88 south of Lake Tahoe. The lake landscape has spectacular scenery. You can enjoy camping, hiking trails, fishing and boating for the entire family. A great time of year to come to Silver Lake is between June and October.

Silver Lake Fishing Information

Silver Lake fishing offers some large rainbow trout, mackinaw lake trout, and brown trout. One of the best places to fish is right across from the boat launch. The boat launch towards the end of summer may be difficult for larger boats, so it may be a good idea to call before you make the drive up the hill, to make sure you can launch your boat if your boat is a larger high profile boat.

Silver Lake Has Lots of Planter Trout As Well

Fishing is good on Silver Lake whether you are fishing from shore, from a kayak, float tube, or a boat. One of the best places to fish is across from the boat launch because this is where the planter trout like to hang out. Silver Lake is well stocked with trout. The Department of Fish and Game regularly stocks Silver Lake with trout, but the Silver Lake Resort also stocks trout every season to increase the fish populations for you to catch more fish. Great for family fishing trips with non-stop trout fighting action.

Silver Lake Boat Rentals

Silver Lake has boats rentals for either a full or half days. You can bring the family, rent a boat, and enjoy fishing on the water. There is a launch ramp available at the Silver Lake Resort.

Silver Lake General Store & Cafe

The Silver Lake General Store has fishing tackle, lures, bait, souvenirs, groceries, sundries, beer, wine, liquor, ice, clothes and camping supplies. They carry all the special lures that the fish in the lake strike the most. The store has all the goodies and supplies you may have forgotten, or run out of on your family fishing adventure. There is also an excellent cafe with delicious food here as well to feed your group. • Store Hours: 7am – 7pm Daily • Cafe Hours: 7am – 2pm Daily
